Grand Rapids

I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I was in Grand Rapids for my beautiful cousin’s wedding.  We stayed in downtown right next to Grand Rapids University and it was absolutely beautiful.  I was not expecting such a young and vibrant city.  I even saw someone from an episode of Intervention.  It was awesome.

I would definitely like to go back with friends to experience the night life a little more.  I was there with family and my ten year old cousins weren’t really allowed in the bars.

The hotel offered free bikes to take around the city.  I quickly realized that it was a blessing in disguise that the first big city I rode a bike through was Grand Rapids, because that was scary enough.  I had actually considered a Citibike membership in NYC around this time.

The city was easy to navigate but you hit a certain point where Grand Rapids turns into Inception and the architect made the roads incline to a 90 degree angle.  I needed to pick up a pair of stockings and saw a pharmacy was only about a mile away, however three quarters of that mile was straight incline.  Instead I opted for a pair of $20 paper thin stockings at a ritzy hotel in down town that shredded and tore just by looking at them.

Thankfully within walking distance from the hotel was Founder’s Brewing!  Having their beer straight from the tap spoiled me.

Here’s some pictures from last year, enjoy!
